Hello 2021!

Is it just me, or is it crazy to think we are already one month into the new year and February is here? January was a much-needed month to regroup, recharge and realign with my goals. I was able to take a really close look at where I envision going both personally and professionally, and with that being said, BIG decisions have been made. We are moving full steam ahead into the future and looking forward to what is on the horizon. There are a lot of behind the scene projects we are working on for this year and can’t wait to announce what they are when I am able! We are gearing up for a busy spring and super excited to expand our vendor presence at 2 new local markets out here in Arizona (North Scottsdale and Desert Mountain).  I loved debuting Mama Mitchell's brand new signage and packaging at the Downtown Chandler Farmer’s Market on January 30th and so incredibly humbled for such a great turn out. We sold out of every half-size, full-size, slice and sample an hour before it was over! When I go to bed at night, I still can’t believe this is all really happening. Getting involved in the community and being able to meet new neighbors and friends gives me true, genuine, fulfillment that is hard to put into words.

A few weeks ago, I also made the decision to design and include a memorable postcard that will now be a part of every cake purchase. Mama Mitchell loved sending postcards to people and I feel the nostalgia of taking the time to sit down and hand write a note to a loved one, seems to be a thing of the past. By placing a blank postcard in every cake box, I hope it will inspire you to take a moment and send a note to someone you care about. Who knows, maybe together we all can make postcards popular again! One of my other goals this year is to hear more from YOU, our customers and friends. I want to know what it is that you look for in a trusted brand; Is it the experience? Ease of purchase? The story? Reliability and Consistency? Whatever life’s moments come your way (Birthdays, Graduations, Baby Showers, Engagements, thinking of you, Sympathy, Corporate gifts, Family gatherings and Just Because) I hope you know there is always a Mama Mitchell’s Pound Cake ready for you!

Our roots run deep at Mama Mitchell’s, and it is my commitment and responsibility to represent the legacy of my grandmother and who she was. I strive to hold myself to the highest standards when it comes to every aspect of the business and it is important that I listen with intent. As we go about this year, my hope is to continue to share a piece of the past, live in the present and keep planning for the future. Gathering people around the table is what I hope to do with each and every slice.

Thank you for your continued love, support, friendship and encouragement.
